Jacki - Working on POC's National Board was a great experience for me too.

Alex - Moving to a country where people speak a different language would be way too big a step for me!

As much as I'm an extrovert when it comes to a one-to-many situation, I'm a complete introvert in more interactive environments. I'm currently working hard on joining various conversations in the blogosphere (including my own blog) instead of just having my say and leaving it at that.

And I don't do phone work. Right now that's too far outside my comfort zone.

I use my volunteer work to step out of my comfort zone. Three years ago I could barely figure out how to get email to work, now I can do some basic HTML programming as well as a tonne of other stuff. Unfortunately it isn't paid work - at least not paid in cash - but payment has been copious as far as experience goes!
