A lot of small business owners take a break from networking and professional development during the summer so they can enjoy the warm weather and spend more time with their families, but now that September’s here, it’s time to get back to business! If you’re a VA, or thinking of becoming one, here are a few events for you to mark on your calendar.
It’s hard to believe, but VAnetworking.com is five years old! When I joined in September 2003 I had no idea it would grow the way it has (I am member #44 of what has grown to over 10,000 members)! Party whenever it suits your schedule – there will be lots of activities and a truckload of prizes to be won over the next 20 weeks.
The Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group is putting on two events this fall for VAs in Southern Ontario. Our next event will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at The Whistling Walrus, 1508 Upper James St., Hamilton (please email me by Wednesday, September 17 if you would like to join us). I’m especially excited about our first-ever evening event, which will take place in Oakville on Thursday, November 20, 2008. If you’re unable to join us for dinner, you’re welcome to come later to hear our special guest speaker, Marie Mushing of People in Connection.
It’s not too early to start planning for 2009! I’ve heard through the grapevine that the next Forum on Virtual Assistance will be held from June 4 to 7, 2009, and that four full-day pre-conference workshops are also in the works for June 3rd! Since it’s taking place in Niagara Falls, Ontario, which is fairly close to my home, you can be sure I’ll be there with bells on!
