My Information Diet

“My name is Janet and I am an infomaniac.”

I LOVE to collect information! I can’t resist when someone offers me a free e-book, report, or teleclass, so unlike people who have piles of flyers, newspaper clippings, magazines, and other printed materials, I have tons of PDFs and MP3s on my computer. I’m proud to say they are neatly organized into folders such as Blogging, Article Marketing, Social Networking, and so on, but Scott, who helps manage my email, has scolded me and told me that I need to stop signing up for these things, as I obviously don’t have time to read or listen to them. Sadly, I have to admit he is right, so effective immediately I am not going to download any more, until I’ve gone through the 95+ items I already have. If I go through 2 items per week, I’ll be caught up in less than a year, and just think how much I’ll learn!

I’ll be sure to share some of the tips here, and let you know which free resources are worth downloading, and which of the others are worth purchasing.

Wish me luck!

This is why I love reading your blog, Janet! It’s so interesting to see someone writing about something that’s dear to my heart. OK – I’m ready to confess:

I’m looking forward to your tips. And I think I’ll go even further and blog about this important topic myself. Then we can get “info” from each other and from our readers!

Melodee, I’ll look forward to reading your blog post!

I was put to the test this week – I read that Ted Demopoulos is now offering “Secrets of Successful Blogging: 101+ Tips for Blogging more Effectively, Efficiently, and Profitably” as a free ebook, and was just about to sign up when I remembered my vow!

Everyone else can request a copy at http://www.bloggingforbusinessbook.com/blogging_for_business/

I’ve resolved to not buy a single thing until I use and implement what I’ve already bought.

So now I’m working through a programme I bought in January. My goal is to have it done by end October.

Then I can start buying again, because that’s when I stopped buying. Actually, there was one other thing I bought but that I implemented IMMEDIATELY.
