I’ve discovered first hand that you have to be careful what you say in your blog. No, I didn’t offend someone!
When I wrote last week about My Information Diet, it had quite an impact on Melodee Patterson, who left a comment confessing that she is also an “infomaniac” and was inspired to blog about it as well. That made me feel pretty good! Then I read her blog post, in which she announces that the two of us “will be describing our struggles and our successes in beating this knowledge-seeking compulsion.” Wow! I didn’t realize that by making my intention public, I had to also report on my progress! But that’s okay – being accountable to you, my readers, may be just what I need to move forward.
I didn’t go through two items last week, so I’m already behind schedule, but in my defence, I’ve been putting in a lot of extra hours preparing for the upcoming Face to Face Job Fair. On the other hand, I haven’t accumulated any more, and even resisted the temptation to request a copy of Ted Demopoulos’ new e-book, Secrets of Successful Blogging: 101+ Tips for Blogging more Effectively, Efficiently, and Profitably, so I think I deserve brownie points for that!
If you’re an infomaniac too, please join Melodee and myself on the road to recovery!

I’m also an information junkie but these days I make sure I delete the PDF/ MP3 as soon as I’ve listened to it or read it.
Unless I paid for it – in that case, I back it up and I have it somewhere.
Marcia, that was one of the tips you shared in our recent teleclass that really caught my attention, and one I’ll be keeping in mind as I review my materials. If I make good notes, why would I need to go back to the information again?
