Instead of a regular post today, I have several unrelated things to share:
Work-Life Balance Survey – For those of you who missed last week’s post on The Importance of R&R, I’ve posted a link to my survey at the top right side of this screen. There are only two questions, so please take a few seconds to respond. This is an important issue, especially for home-based business owners, and I’m sure my other readers would be interested in reading the results.
Information Diet Report -I haven’t signed up for any more newsletters, teleclasses, or other free information for over a month, since I realized that these items were just accumulating on my computer and that I had little time to read them. I went to a couple of trade shows last week and came home with a bag of flyers, catalogues, and other information, but managed to leaf through and discard most of them over the weekend. I mailed an information package to one of my clients on a topic she’s researching, kept something for another client I’ll be seeing this week, and kept a magazine that may be useful reference material for future articles. I kept a copy of Business Link to read when I have more time to absorb the content.
Melodee Patterson, who has joined me in fighting infomania, returned from vacation last week and made a list of changes she was going to implement. Be sure to read Melodee’s Virtual Assistant Blog this week to find out how she made out!
My Latest Article – Speaking of trade shows, after my experience last week, I realized that I’ve read a lot about being an exhibitor at a trade show, including Janice Byer’s helpful Tips for a Successful Trade Show, but I’ve never seen an article about visiting a trade show, so I decided to write one. You can read Trade Show Survival Strategies and other great articles at OrganizedArticles.com.

Loved the article you wrote about Trade Show visiting, Janet. I always make sure that I’ve got plenty of business cards in that small shoulder purse I carry. I also carry a few cards of other VAs or businesses that I think I may want to hand out for referrals.
Of course, you got me hooked on OrganizedArticles.com and I had to pick up their RSS feed. There goes my good Information Diet intentions for the week – darn you anyway!
Melodee, thanks so much for adding your tip – I can’t believe I forgot to mention that one!
I do apologize for feeding your addiction – but at least it’s another one of MY sites!
I’m just back from 3 weeks of holiday and yesterday ruthlessly cut out 50 blogs that don’t fit my new criteria for blog reading (can’t just be regurgitated information, and must include personal stories). Today I cut out 3 more.
Three weeks without commenting on other blogs did have an effect on my readers, but trying to read 125 blogs every day was just too much.
I know this probably isn’t your fault, Janet, but after reading Alex’s “Someday Syndrome” blog, I HAD to pick up his RSS feed!
This blog addiction is getting out of hand. I think I may need professional help
Alex, I’m glad I made the cut!
Thank you for sharing your criteria – even though readers look for different things, it’s helpful to know what some like to see.
Melodee – I promise, you won’t regret adding Alex’s blog to your feed!
Glad I could feed the addiction Melodee!
oops. I mean, sorry for being an enabler…
