That theory about cats going to people who aren’t looking at them is fascinating. As one of those (allergic) people happy to avoid close up feline visits, I’ll have to remember to try looking right at the next cat I’m in a room with.

Marcia – That is typical cat behaviour, and there are many theories as to why they do that. I don’t know which is right, but this one makes the most sense to me: “Cats, like many animals, take stares as threats to their well-being. A person who doesn’t like cats tends to avoid eye contact with the cat because they think looking at the cat will draw the cat towards them. Quite the opposite is in fact true.
