This is the perfect week to take a look at your accomplishments during the past year, and to set your personal and professional goals for 2009. If you need help getting started, check out my recent post, Planning for 2009, or my article, The Year-End Wrap-Up.
In addition, for a limited time, business coach C.J. Hayden, the author of Get Clients Now!, Get Hired Now!, and The One-Person Marketing Plan Workbook, is offering her Year-End Review and Planning Exercise as a free download. After Sunday, January 4th, this document will only be available only to paid members of the GET CLIENTS NOW! Answer Center.
In 2006, I did a wonderful exercise, which I described in my blog post called Looking Forward. Based on the Law of Attraction, instead of writing out your goals in the future tense (i.e., “I intend to…” or “I plan to…”), you write them as if they had already happened. What is most remarkable is that I accomplished everything I described, except for the one thing I labelled as being unrealistic. You should definitely give this one a try, especially if more structured exercises are not your style.
Don’t let this week go by without at least pausing to reflect on these things. But remember – writing down your goals is much more effective, because it gives you a guide to follow and helps you stay motivated.

I’m spending the week getting organized so I’ll be rarin’ to go come Monday morning!
I wish you a Happy New Year, Janet, and hope all of your goals for 2009 get accomplished
Same to you, Melodee – and I look forward to many more interesting blog posts from you in 2009!
I’m going to give this one a try this week – it’s different from the one I normally do which means it’ll likely show me something different.
Thanks!
Alex
Yes Alex, sometimes trying a different approach can help you see things in an entirely different light! Take today’s post for example!
