Last year I founded the Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group to provide a means for local VAs to meet for casual business networking. Although there are lots of places for virtual assistants to exchange ideas online, many welcomed the opportunity to meet face-to-face. Not only does it allow a deeper level of relationship building, but when you work from home, it’s great to be able to get out of the office and talk to your colleagues from time to time. In fact, we’ve grown from 4 VAs at our first meeting to 13 current members.
Be sure to check out the Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group if you’re a busy entrepreneur who can’t find the time to deal with all the day-to-day details, or to work on that project that you just know is going to take your business to the next level. With the wide range of skills and experience offered by our members, you’re sure to find someone who is right for you. You don’t even have to be in Southern Ontario; because we work virtually, we can partner with businesses throughout North America, and even beyond!
After a successful first year, we’re looking forward to lots of exciting things in 2009, and our next get-together has been scheduled for January 31. Guests are always welcome, so if you are or know someone who is a virtual assistant in this area, or who is interested in exploring the possibility, we’ll be meeting at 11:00 for brunch at The Whistling Walrus in Hamilton. I’d appreciate an email so I know how many people to expect.

Janet, I’m excited about FINALLY attending this get together! I look forward to finally meeting and visiting my old stomping grounds!!
Bette, I am really looking forward to meeting you after a year of emails!
