Which Jane Are You?

I have always loved tests that help me learn more about myself, from the fun quizzes at BlogThings to carefully researched personality inventories like the DiSC Profile. So, when I learned about an assessment developed especially for woman business owners, I had to check it out!

The assessment was designed to help us maximize the personal and financial rewards we receive from our businesses and take steps to move our businesses and lifestyle to a position that better aligns with our goals.

According to a two-year study conducted by Jane Out of the Box, all female entrepreneurs fit into one of five categories, according to the choices we make when balancing our personal and professional needs.

After completing the survey, I received an email informing me that I am a Go Jane Go woman.

A Go Jane Go woman is a successful female entrepreneur who has grown her business to the point that she may now struggle to get time away from her work for vacations or to take care of herself.

That sure sounds like me…

You feel confident and organized and have put systems in place to
get your work done.Ā  However, you may have difficulty
“saying no” to clients and/or volunteer opportunities.

That sounds like me too, although lately I’m finding it easier to identify the opportunities that really interest and excite me, whether they be business, volunteer, or social activities, and to turn down those that do not.

You are four times as likely to hit the million-dollar revenue mark with your company as other women entrepreneurs.

I do like the sound of that!

On average, Go Jane Go business owners take the
highest personal incomes from their businesses,
but generally have the least amount of personal time.

That makes sense. Unless you’re exceptionally brilliant in terms of generating passive income, you need to put in long hours to make a lot of money. It’s simple math; isn’t it?

Go Jane Go types are the least common of the five types, accounting for just 14% of women entrepreneurs.

They always said I was special! At least my mother did. The rest of the world just called me strange. :)

I’m sure you’re curious about the other types, so why don’t you go and find out Which Jane Are You?
