Tea has been part of my daily life for many years. It’s more than just a hot beverage – exploring different flavours and brands of tea is a fun and rewarding hobby.

Earlier this year, I stumbled upon a company called Genuine Tea and quickly became a big fan. Here’s why:

  1. Their teas have no disgusting artificial flavours or sweeteners.
  2. Their values are close to my heart: being eco-friendly, organic, socially conscious, and committed to sustainability. They’re even dedicated to ensuring fair compensation for tea makers!
  3. They support mental health by donating 1% of all proceeds to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). With more and more people needing help these days, this is an important contribution.
  4. They’re Canadian, just like me!

Most importantly, the teas are delicious. I haven’t tried one flavour that I wouldn’t buy again, but so far my favourites are Blueberry White Peony and Evergreen Peppermint.

As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when they invited me to join their Ambassador Program. What’s really awesome is that YOU can save 10% off every order you place with them! Simply go to https://www.genuinetea.ca/JANETBARCLAY (feel free to bookmark the page for future use) and your discount should be applied automatically. If not, enter the discount code JANETBARCLAY and you’ll be all set.

Shall we enjoy a cup together?

I’m impressed — you found a way to connect tea with website care! Also just noticed that you moved your tea notes from your blog Tea With Janet over to Steepster. Interesting to know there’s a site for tea drinkers similar to Goodreads for books and IMDb for movies and TV shows!

Thanks – I have to admit I was impressed with myself for making that connection too!

I was tempted to resume blogging at Tea with Janet after I was approached by Genuine Tea, but it really was taking a lot of my time. With Steepster, posting a photo is optional and if the tea is already in the database, it takes very little time to post my notes.

Tea is so comforting. This time of year, my hot beverage and tea consumption has increased. There is comfort in holding a warm cup, smelling the wonderful aromas, and sipping a tasty hot drink.

How lovely you found a tea company whose mission you can get behind AND who has delicious tea. Enjoy every sip!

True confession, not much of a tea drinker. That said, I do go for herbals and chamomile when I do drink tea. Chamomile’s flavor is mild, which I prefer. My children (and lots of my clients) are tea drinkers. Popular with my oldest right now is a “stress reliever” tea. I do agree that good tea is healthy and soothing, pretty much no downsides. I don’t think there is such a thing is drinking “too much” tea, right? I mean, maybe it keeps you running to the restroom, but it does hydrate.

    Fun new connection!

I think it’s possible to drink too much tea, if it has a high caffeine content or medicinal properties that could be toxic if too much is consumed. Everything in moderation!

Tea is my favorite go-to warm beverage. I am a fan of herbal versions and sometimes green. It’s lovely that you were able to be an Ambassador. Congratulations!

Hi Janet, This is a really great connection for you and your clients. The teas sound lovely and who doesn’t love a nice hot tea at this time of year.

You combined marketing your business (socially) with the lovely social atmosphere surrounding tea drinking! You’re so smart.

As my mom would say, I wouldn’t drink tea with YOUR mouth. Count me with Ted Lasso; it’s brown leaf water. Of course, I don’t like to drink anything hot, so I’m not a good fit. But I love pretty tea cups. I love going to afternoon tea (three tiers of little sandwiches and sweets), and usually they’re kind enough to put diet Coke in a tiny tea pot for me to enjoy the ritual, if not the beverage. So I love everything about tea, except the actual tea! LOL. But I have to say, you make Genuine Tea sound fabulous! All four of your points make it so appealing. You’re such a smart (tea) cookie!

Most of the teas I like aren’t even brown; some are pink, red, or almost clear. And I would be happy to join you for a cup, while you enjoy your diet cola.
