These salt and pepper shakers belonged to my grandparents and are probably older than I am. One of my favourite parts of this season is bringing out treasures like this and remembering times spent with loved ones.

Christmas at Grandma's

This was one of many Christmas dinners at Grandma and Poppa’s house (I’m the cutie in the yellow dress). Always turkey with stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, turnips, peas, tomato juice, and of course the Christmas crackers. This was clearly taken as soon as we sat down; otherwise we’d have been wearing our paper hats for sure!

It’s interesting how every family has its own traditions. I was quite surprised when I later learned that some people had never had to eat dinner while wearing a silly paper hat!

What’s the oldest Christmas decoration you have? Is there a story behind it?
